About Janet:

Hello, I am Janet Jones. I'm a licensed counselor and have over 20 years of experience helping clients discover new ways of living healthy and whole in a complicated and stressful world. I have a Master's Degree in counseling and after 20 years of private practice work, am currently employed with Novant Health in Charlotte, NC.

In the course of my work as a therapist I have seen how often, and how deeply, our struggles with self-image, weight, and our relationship with food affect the quality of our life. This struggle can completely rob us of our sense of worth and keeps us from living a life of meaning and purpose.

The Am I Hungry? program offers a unique opportunity to help us heal the relationship with both our bodies and our relationship to food, not by offering a new diet or a new-comer "guru" to tell us what we should eat or how we should exercise, but by offering back to us the innate, natural wisdom of our own bodies. And it does so by teaching us how to harness the incredible power of our brain to move us in the direction of living a meaningful, purposeful life.

I am truly excited to be a part of the Am I Hungry? team so that I can practice, and help others practice, skills based in compassion and mindfulness to heal perhaps the most intimate part of our lives - the relationship we have with ourselves.
