Cheryl Harris, MPH RD was selected one of the best nutritionists in the DC area by the Washingtonian in 2014 and as the “Emerging Dietetics Leader of the Year” for 2012 for the state of Virginia. She enjoys sharing her passion for nutrition and health for organizations including the USDA, FDA, the Institute of Medicine, the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, the Virginia Dietetics Association, Maryland Diabetic Association and more. Her quotes have been featured in the Washington Post, the Washingtonian, ABC.com, WebMD, and the Food Network. She authored an article on Mindful Eating for Today’s Dietitian and on treating Binge Eating Disorder through mindfulness for the Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness peer-reviewed newsletter. Cheryl has a Master’s Degree in Public Health Nutrition from the University of California, Berkeley and a BS in Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University and she completed her internship as a Registered Dietitian through the University of California Berkeley. Cheryl has trained through the Mindfulness Teacher Training Institute in San Diego, the Center for Mind Body Medicine in DC, Michelle May’s “Am I Hungry?”, IMCW in DC and more. She is a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor (CLC) through the Center for Breastfeeding and also certified as a Health and Wellness Coach through Wellcoaches.
