About Hester:
Hello, my name is Hester. I live in Coastal Maine and work with women on Zoom, just about anywhere! My goal is to empower you to live a life you love! Making peace with food is a benefit that comes along with that. When we live true to our values and engage in enjoyable work, relationships and hobbies, maintaining healthy boundaries, we naturally cultivate happiness and contentment so we're not filling a void with food. My clients teach me again and again that JOY is the key to long-term wellness. As one of my Am I Hungry? participants realized, “When I live a full life, I no longer need food to feel full”. Life is too short to be doing something that doesn't make me happy. I eat anything that feels good to me, and this includes a wide variety of foods and doing the best I can to meet my body's needs in a variety of situations. Most of the time I enjoy cooking at home, but I do go out to eat, engage in social activities, and get occasional take-out! I focus on taste, colors, and flavors. I heard a quote once that "Most people have no idea how good their body is designed to feel" and I am a firm believer. I engage in ENJOYABLE physical movement, usually outdoors in the beautiful Maine weather in all 4 seasons, or ballroom dancing which is so much fun for me. I love the music and the variety and I never get tired of it. But if one of my activities stops being fun, or something gets an ache or pain, I just problem solve or find something different so I can keep taking care of my body and helping it feel good! As well as being an Am I Hungry? licensed facilitator, I am a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach. For the past 10 years, I have been working as a Wellness Coach for MaineHealth hospital systems and the Maine Department of Transportation. I left my job to start my own business, Hester Kohl Wellness. In addition to providing Am I Hungry? Mindful Eating Coaching, I teach ballroom dancing. I offer group classes, private lessons, wedding choreography and dance parties. It's such a joy to be able to dance and I love sharing it with everyone! These services are available virtually on Zoom so we can meet anywhere if you are available during my office hours, Monday-Friday 10am-4pm Eastern time. |

Mindful Eating Coaching is for those looking for customized 1:1 support in putting the Am I Hungry? tools into action. I offer a complimentary 30-minute session to anyone who would like to meet and see if we are a good fit to work together. Please contact me if you'd like to set up a complimentary session. After this "meet & greet", if we decide to partner together, coaching can take place as part of the Support Community packages or through purchasing coaching sessions. Because we meet together virtually in face-to-face video sessions participants can be anywhere in the US or the world, if our availability coincides. Through coaching we will be able to discuss your specific challenges such as making time for your own replenishing self-care activities, saying no or setting boundaries with others when appropriate, identifying your triggers to eat when not hungry, identifying your "true needs" and brainstorming action steps to meet your needs. In the end these types of behaviors (and others you will come up with!) help us bring more happiness into our lives so food is not filling a huge void in our lives. As one of my clients said "When I fill my life with happiness, I no longer need food to feel full". I will assist you in connecting or re-connecting with the Am I Hungry? tools that will be most beneficial to you having a healthy relationship with food.
