New Year's "Resolutions"
Posted on 01/02/2013 @ 5:41 PM

This is a New Year’s Day unlike any other for as far back as I can remember. This year, I’m kicking resolutions to the curb! When you think of the word resolute, what comes to mind? For me, it’s thoughts of being firmly determined, unyielding, and unwavering. Which is a pretty darned good description of my mindset every previous January 1st as I made a resolution to diet.

But not this year! Today, what I’m feeling is freedom and gratitude. I’m enjoying the positive side of new beginnings, fresh starts, and the possibilities that the new year offers, with no sense of stubbornness and dread. The Am I Hungry? program and mindfulness practices have helped me really understand that every moment of every day is an opportunity for a new beginning and a fresh start. Every choice I make has within it the potential to bring me closer to living the life I value and being the person I want to be. The sinking in of that realization truly gives me something to cheer, celebrate and “clink my glass to”…endless possibilities.

Wishing you a Happy New Year and a Happy New You!
